NYU Langone comprises three hospitals-Tisch Hospital, a 705-bed
acute-care tertiary facility; Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine,

extensive outpatient rehabilitation programs; and the 190-bed Hospital
for Joint Diseases, one of only five hospitals in the world dedicated to

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Clinical Affairs & Hospital
Financial Affairs who has experience managing Clinical &
Hospital Financial Affairs, and assist with the financial
leadership in all aspects of financial operations including:
The Faculty Group Practice (FGP), the Bellevue Affiliation contract, the
Woodhull Affiliation contract, the Faculty Practice Office (FPO) and the
Clinical & Hospital Affairs Operating accounts.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
This position will be reporting to the Senior
Director of Clinical & Hospital Financial Affairs, Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
- Ensure compliance and
appropriate controls of the policies and procedures of the School of
Medicine (SOM) financial reporting functions
- Identify areas
requiring improvement and/or enhancements and recommend, develop and
implement changes to appropriate process, systems, etc., and see that
the established procedures are carried out efficiently.
- Manage HHC Affiliation
Contract reporting: fee statements, interim payments, grant
reporting, payroll reporting and year end re-calculation documents
- HHC Affiliation
contract negotiation - Partner with Senior Director on all modeling,
proposals and analysis
- Ensure comprehensive
financial systems are maintained in order to provide appropriate levels
of security and controls over the SOM resources and operations
- Manage the production
of the monthly financial package for FGP and Affiliation including
accrual for supplemental bonuses coordinated with the Chief Operating
Officer (COO)
- Assist with the
preparation of the annual budgets for Affiliations and FPO; validation
of the FGP budget; calendarization for all OCHA budgets
- Responsible for
providing actual vs budget variances, presenting monthly results to
executive team in partnership with the Senior Director
- Manage monthly cash
receipts and assist in revenue maximization, operations and procedures,
and oversee the daily cash reporting function.
- Serve as liaison with
FGP Administrative Practice Managers and advise and counsel on month-end
book close procedures and financial operations
- Manage FGP and FPO
accounts receivable evaluations and assessments, executing based on
GAAP; includes monthly review of FPO balances greater than 45 days and
quarterly review of FGP receivables based on the Gross Collection Rate
- Assist in the
management of FGP payroll operations and coordinate with the FGP
Administrative Practice Managers and Clinical Departments to ensure that
the FGP physicians are paid correctly.
- Coordinate the FGP,
Affiliation and FPO accounting function, including month end close and
analysis.
- Create various ad hoc
reports and analysis associated with Clinical and Hospital Affairs for
use in managerial decision-making.
- Manager the OCHA
capital expenditure pools: FGP and FPO
- Manager the year-end
audit related to OCHA
- Participate in the
year-end audit related to HHC Affiliation contracts with Bellevue and
Woodhull Hospitals
- Assist with
managing a staff of seven providing guidance, performance feedback as
well as all activities associated with hiring and training staff
- Other duties as
assigned
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, MBA
in Accounting preferred and 4-6 years of relevant experience
- Strong background in
Healthcare accounting/finance
- Knowledge of
operations, services and activities of a comprehensive Faculty Group
Practice
- Revenue Cycle and cash
flow of an ambulatory medical practice
- Financial reporting,
budget and month-end close process and procedures
- Microsoft Excel
expert, with PeopleSoft experience helpful
